In the 21st century there has been an important expansion of our thinking about ‘childhood disability’. Many of these ideas are not so much new as better emphasized, while others are being studied carefully and are leading to a firmer evidence base to support them. 

In this talk I would like to present and explore several related ideas, and then show how – when woven together – these approaches allow parents of children with developmental challenges, and the people who work with them, to reframe what we do, why we do it, and why it matters

These ideas will offer participants an opportunity to reflect, and question, and discuss, and challenge – the speaker, their colleagues, and their own beliefs! It is expected that everyone will have fun!
