Ana Maria Serrano, Ph.D. University of Minho, Portugal, Associate Professor of Special Education at Institute of Education, researcher at the Center for Research in Child Studies (CIEC).
Ana Maria Serrano, Ph.D. has a degree in Psychology from the University of Coimbra. She holds a master’s degree in Early Intervention from the University of Cincinnati, USA, as a Fulbright Scholar, and a PhD in Child Studies – Special Education, from the Institute for Child Studies at the University of Minho.
Teaches in the field of Special Education, is the Director of the Masters in Special Education,. Developed a Master’s of program in ECI in 2000 at the University of Minho, one of the first Master’s program for training ECI professionals in Portugal.
President of the European Association for Early Intervention –EURLYAID. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Early Childhood Intervention. Member of the National Association for Early Intervention (ANIP).
Is part of the National System of Early Childhood Intervention (SNIPI) North Subcommittee’s Supervision Nucleus.
This session will be about the story, the motives and the process of designing the Guidelines for Evidence Based Practices to support Professional Development of the Portuguese Early Intervention System (SNIPI) by a joint collaboration of a group of practitioners, researchers and families, within a Gulbenkian Foundation Project – IM2 (Intervene More, Intervene Better).
